When Jesus fed "five thousand" and then "four thousand" with a few loaves of bread and fishes, he never involved large crowds. "The five thousand" and "the four thousand" were the leaders of two religious orders; and at that time, these positions were held by the twin brothers John and James Boanerges. The "miracle" was not that thousands of people were saturated with an unbelievably small amount of food, but that Jesus ordained Gentiles as priests in The Kingdom of God by allowing them to eat the food that traditionally had been reserved for Jews of the Levi Tribe.
