The so-called "Wedding of Cana" was the engagement party of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. It didn't take place, however, in the Galilean town Cana, but in the village Ain Feshka by the Dead Sea, which was called "Cana" every time it was visited by prominent guests from that place. Jesus did not transform water into wine in the physical sense, but he allowed "unclean" people to drink wine instead of water, which was their traditional drink at such gatherings. At the same time, we see that "a sacred meal of bread and wine" was an old Essene tradition and not a product of early Christianity, even if the Church likes to falsely claim that "the Eucharist is uniquely Christian".
