The Biblical Ark of the Covenant was far from unique, since there abounded with similar objects in many countries even long before Moses' time. The phenomenon was particularly prevalent in Egypt and therefore, the readers shouldn't be surprised that there has been found a nearly identical ark, albeit somewhat smaller, in Tutankamon's burial chamber, since that pharaoh was the son of Akenaten/Moses. There are also indications that the Ark and large quantities of gold had already been gathered at God's Mountain before the desert-wanderers arrived.
