Cruising is an excellent value holiday because all major expenses (lodging, meals, activities and entertainment) tend to be included with most lines. However, confusion can arise when a cruise is described as "all-inclusive", while some items come with an extra cost that can quickly run up the bill. Cruisers should be aware that activities such as shore excursions, specialty dining options and spa treatments typically come with an extra cost – as do most drinks, including alcohol and soft drinks. Tea, coffee and water are generally included. The reality is that it's all about choice and it's down to the individual how many extras they enjoy. Cruisers are therefore advised to be savvy and do their research before they book to ensure that they know what is and isn't included. This helps avoid any surprises and ensures that your cruise sails smoothly.
