Besides the suffering that some unfortunate people experience in this life, hell only exists as a cruel concept in some believers' imagination. It was introduced in Christianity so that Jesus could have something to save our souls from, but the clumsy way in which it has been presented and modified shows that this has been done to intimidate critical people back into the Church's relentless grip. Therefore, I am happy to dismiss it as "pure fiction".
