My conclusion about Satan as "The Prince of Darkness" must be that this fictional character simply is a product of over-imaginative people's creative thoughts. Satan in such a wrapping is definitely not found in the Bible and certainly not included in Jesus' original teaching. I would therefore like to call literalist believers in the arbitrary myths surrounding him "gullible" and "uneducated"!
