The so-called "Holy Bible" is considered by many as the infallible word of God. According to such individuals, it was not just written by man, but rather written by God through man. This book is the cornerstone of Judaism (Old Testament) and Christianity (entire Bible); and without it, they have nothing to hold their beliefs to. With these two things in mind, one would think that it would have to be not only 100% correct in every manner, but also scientifically testable and proved to be a reliable source of answers to the unknown mysteries of our earth and universe as well. Alas, the Bible , however, cannot truly be taken literally, because its details happen to contradict themselves. There are hundreds of errors and misconceptions, both as far as the lack of scientific accuracy goes and also when it comes to logical shortcomings. It doesn't take long for Bible readers to come across the first inconsistencies and contradictions. In fact, you can find the first one as early as on page one - where there are two different accounts of creation in Genesis 1 and 2. In the first account, God creates all the plants and animals before creating human beings. In the second, he creates humans and then plants. So which is it? It seems like whoever wrote Genesis couldn’t get their story straight. After such a little impressive start, how can we actually believe anything in the Bible to be true?
