Religious fundamentalism is based on a self-centered thinking and a complete lack of respect for other people's faith, belief and integrity. The Fundamentalists pick selectively among the most literal interpretations of religious writings and they put this together into a doctrine that has never been advocated by any religion. Neither Moses, Jesus, Paul nor Muhammad would have recognized what is preached by Jewish, Christian and Muslim fanatics today. They would rather have been surprised and saddened that some people are still willing to harass, harm and kill their fellow human beings "in the name of God".
